Everyone hates poor Wi-Fi Connectivity because you are stuck with slow internet speeds and cannot use the internet as you intend to. While there are many factors that lead to poor Wi-Fi coverage, here are some things that you can try out to improve your Wireless Wi-Fi Network.
How To Improve Wireless WiFi Network?
Here are some things that you consider in order to improve the connectivity of your Wireless Wi-Fi Network.
Router Placement
The first thing that you should do is place your router at a place where it is suitable for most of the devices. You should place it probably in the living room and on the main floor instead of the attic or basement so, that signals can easily reach most of the devices.
Also, avoid putting your Wi-Fi Router next to any object or obstacle that may obstruct or block the signal. The best placement is in an open space and away from metal objects, concrete walls or any other electronic device that may interfere with the Wi-Fi Signals.
Rebooting the Router
Just like humans, your routers and modems also need to reboot at regular intervals. Rebooting the router/modem is good for both the device and also for the Wi-Fi Network Performance. Rebooting your router will clear any cache and will also allow the device to update its firmware if required.
Using Ethernet Cable
You can also improve the performance of your internet connection by connecting your PCs, Video Gaming Consoles, and other streaming devices directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. This will provide high speed to your device and as these devices use much of the bandwidth, you would have a better connection on these devices through an ethernet cable.
Changing Frequency Bands
You should also consider using a different frequency band. By default, most of the wireless routers use the 2.4 GHz frequency band which provides a longer range but transmits data slowly as compared to 5 GHz frequency band, which transmits data faster but has a weak range. You should try switching to 5 GHz if your router is on 2.4 GHz and vice-versa to check out the difference.
Older Devices
You may also be having a poor internet connection on your device because your device is older and isn’t able to handle faster speeds, due to which you are facing issues or it could be that your device is currently running an older version of the Operating System due to which you are having internet issues or slower speeds. Try switching to a new device and see how does the new device performs.
Upgrading Internet Plan
If there are a lot of devices that are connected to your network and actively using the internet then you may want to consider upgrading your internet plan to a higher speed plan that may improve your network’s performance.
